Life in Pink

There is a cultural relationship between Edgar Alan Poe and the dark aesthetic. In this re-edition, I tried to take a step out of that perception and create a new visual universe for this story. Life in pink is about the distortion of the reality and the problems with a filter.

After reading the Golden Bug for the first time I was intrigued by the mains characters’ approach to his problems. It is a story of hope and light after the dark. With those ideas in mind, I created an inspirational mood board that I used to develop the visual narrative. It is a mystery story and in order to keep the suspense, I decided to illustrate just the spaces instead of the characters
